Dr Ambedkar Scholarship: Apply for the Financial Help from Government of India
Dr Ambedkar Scholarship is offered to the students of Economically Backward Class. It is financial help from the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
This initiative aims to offer financial support to EBC students so that they can pursue their education at the post-matriculation or post-secondary stage. It enables the students to complete their schooling.
This scholarship is available in India for Indian students so that they can study for higher education. It is a financial help by the Government of State/Union Territory.
Benefits of Doctor Bhim Rao Ambedkar Scholarship
Group A
- Master’s, doctoral, and post-doctoral studies in healthcare (allopathic, Indian, and other acknowledged medical systems), technology, engineering, planning, design, fashion science and technology, agriculture, veterinary medicine and related sciences, administration, business finance, and computer science are among the degree and post-graduate level courses offered.
- Postgraduate diploma programs in a range of medical and management specialties.
- C.A./I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A., and so on.
- Post-Doctoral programs (D.Litt., D.Sc., etc.), Ph.D., and M. Phil.
- L.L.M.
The monthly maintenance allowance rate (in ₹) is 350 for day scholars and 750 for hosts.
Group B
- Except for courses associated with aviation, Graduate/Post/Graduate programs that result in a diploma, certificate, or degree include Pharmacy, Nursing LLB, BFS, other para-medial subsidiaries like recovery examinations, etc.; Mass Communication; Hotel Administration & Catering; Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Leadership; Interior Decorating; Nutrition & Dietetics; Commercial Art; and Financial Services for which at least 12th is required for admission.
- Group A does not cover postgraduate courses such as MA, M.Sc., M.Com., M.Ed., M.Pharma, etc.
Group C
- Any further graduate-level courses not included in Groups A and B, such as BA, B.Sc., B.Com., etc.
- Monthly Maintenance Allowance Rate: There are 400 hosts and 210-day scholars.
Group D
- High school is a prerequisite for all post-matriculation level non-degree programs, such as senior secondary certificates; ITI courses, basic and vocational streams, three-year diploma programs in polytechnics, etc.
NOTE: Maintenance costs at one-third of the hostellers’ rate are going to be paid to students who are eligible for free boarding and/or accommodation.
What Are the Different Fees Structure for Blind Students?
Additionally, the blind scholars will receive ‘Readers Charges’, which are as follows:
- Group: A & B; Monthly Reader Allowance: 175
- Group: C; Monthly Reader Allowance: 130
- Group: D; Monthly Reader Allowance: 90
Fees
Scholars will be compensated for enrollment/registration, tuition, games, union, the library, journal, medical examination, and any other fees that they are required to pay to the university or institution. But, the refund deposits can not be deposited as security amounts.
Study Trips
Scholars enrolled in professional and technical programs will be eligible for study tour fees up to Rs. 900/-per year, restricted to the actual costs paid by the student for travel, etc., as long as the institution’s head confirms that the study tour is necessary for the scholar to finish his or her program of study.
Fees for Typing and Printing Theses
Research scholars will be compensated for typing and printing their theses to a maximum of Rs. 1000 upon the college’s head’s approval.
Method of Payment
The state and UT authorities have been asked to avoid paying the scholarship amount in cash and to guide everyone involved that the scholarship should be paid directly to the recipients through their accounts at post offices and banks with an ongoing transition to smart cards. This will help to ensure that the beneficiaries receive their money on time.
Scholarship Duration
As long as students behave well and attend class regularly, the scholarship will be valid until the end of the course.
Scholarship Renewal
It will be renewed annually as long as the student advances to the next higher class during a course that lasts for several years, regardless of whether the university or the organization administers the exams.
What Are the Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship?
- Indian nationals who fall under the General Category (apart from Schedule Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Minority Classes) are eligible to apply for the scholarships.
- Scholarships for all approved post-matriculation or higher courses taken at government-run schools will be granted.
- If they are not permitted to practice during their degree, students enrolled in post-graduate medical programs will be eligible.
- Scholarships will be given to students who enroll in any accredited professional or technical certificate, diploma, or degree programs after failing or completing the undergraduate or post-graduate exams in the arts, sciences, or commerce.
- Except in Group ‘A’ courses, no further failures will be tolerated, and no course modifications will be allowed.
- A non-refundable charge may be refunded to students who continue their education through correspondence courses.
- Distance and ongoing education are included in the word correspondence.
- A yearly allowance of Rs. 900 would be provided to such students for recommended books, as well as reimbursement of non-refundable tuition.
- Scholarships will only be awarded to two boys who have the same parents or guardianship. However, girls will not be subject to this restriction.
- Therefore, up to two males of the same guardian or parent will not be negatively impacted by girls receiving scholarships from the same parents or guardians.
- The awardee of a scholarship under this program is not eligible to receive any other stipends or scholarships.
- The student may practice his or her option for one of the two scholarships or stipends, whichever is more advantageous to him or her, and shall notify the granting authorities of the choice made via the Head of the organization.
- Students under this program will not get any scholarship money after accepting any other scholarships or stipends.
- However, in extra to the scholarship amount provided under this scheme, the student may take free housing, a grant, or ad hoc financial assistance from the State Government or another source for the cost of books and equipment, or for covering board and lodging costs.
- A stipend under the coaching programs will not be available to scholarship applicants who have received tutoring in any of the pre-examination preparation centers with funding from the Central Government or State Government during the length of the coaching program.
- Employed students are qualified for a post-matric scholarship up to the amount of repayment of all mandatory non-refundable fees if their annual income, plus the income of their parents or guardians, does not exceed ₹1,00,000.
- Students without jobs whose parents’ or guardians’ total annual income does not exceed ₹1,00,000 would be eligible for a grant under the program.
How to Apply for the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Online?
Here is the complete process on how to apply for the Dr. Ambedkar scholarship online. Follow and apply:
Step 1: The first step is to register yourself as a “New Registration” by visiting the Portal.
- The registration instructions will be displayed.
- Go to the bottom.
- Go over the undertaking attentively.
- Agree to the terms. Press “Continue.”
Step 2 : You may see a form for registration
- Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- After completing the information, click “Register.”
- It will show your application ID and password.
- Your registered cellphone number will also receive an SMS with the same information.
Step 3: Visit https://scholarships.gov.in/.
- Select “Login to Apply.”
- Put in your password and Application ID.
- After entering the Captcha, click “Login.”
- Enter the OTP you received to your registered mobile phone.
- The Password Reset screen will be displayed.
- Make new passwords and make sure it works.
- Press “Submit.”
Step 4: Then you will be taken to the “Application Form”.
- Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Enter the information and attach the files.
- Then, press “Save as Draft” to finish the application or press “Final Submit.”
What Are the Documents Required for the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship?
- One copy of the scholarship application in the required format (for “fresh” and “renewal” scholarships, the relevant State Government or UT may prescribe a different application form).
- One copy of the student’s passport-sized photo signed by them (for the new scholarship)
- One certified copy of each degree, diploma, certificate, etc., about all exams passed
- a valid income certificate (in original form) from a revenue officer with at least the Tehsildar rank.
